WHY FAIR TRADE? Because your cup of coffee can help farmers escape poverty. We support family farmers living in remote locations with lack of financial resources to compete with “bean brokers” who offer cash for their coffee at a fraction of its value. Fair Trade guarantees farmers a fair price, and connects farmers directly with importers. The Popcorn Shop supports sustainable, Fair Trade practices allowing farmers to earn better incomes which allows them to hold on to their land and invest in quality.

ORGANIC COFFEE
WHY ORGANIC? Because coffee beans can be treated with chemical-based fertilizers that have devastating consequences to the farming soil and seep into the local water supplies. Combined with problems of deforestation, due to genetically modified beans that are sun resistant, the world’s non-organic coffee production is contributing to the clearing of precious rainforest areas.
